Aunt Nira was an ORIGINAL Girl Boss!. She always had a plan and ways to make things happen. You may not have understood it or agreed with it – but she ALWAYS made it work.
Aunt Nira and Uncle Victor were the ultimate power couple- St. Thomian Bonnie and Clyde. Aunt Nira you will be missed for your spirit, smile, strength, humor, honesty and resourcefulness (shout out to WD40 – you owe Aunt Nira lots of royalty money and stock -smiling with big cheesy grin..... tears falling)

To “Big Sis” and Family,
Every person’s life is a plan of God.
Nira’s ambition and dreams were to be an opera singer. She was born when the world was racially different. She lived her life’s journey with determination, dedication to family, dignity, achievement, and dignity. In the midst of her sorrows, she kept a spark of heavenly fire.
Nira was also a successful business woman. Nira triumphed and survived. She dried her tears with time and courage. Like a hammer, she kept “pounding away”, keeping her pain to herself. She never lost her zest for life in this unfinished world.
One year, we were together in St. Thomas for Carnival at a family picnic at Magen’s bay - Nira and the family. “OH LORD, WHAT A TING!!” We wrote our names and our birthdays in the sand. We did a toast to each other. A wave came rolling high and fast and washed our lines away.
Now Nira is with Him who counts the sand and keeps a lasting record of our names. Nira has passed the torch to the next generation. If you listen quietly, you will hear Nira singing,
CARRY ON MY SOUL!! CARRY ON!!

Although Nira could have been my mother she was more like a big sister. Over the 40+ years of our friendship, we shared many good times together. We have partied together, shopped together, cooked together, shared girl stories and always had a good time when we were together. She often added humor to sour events or stories. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I will miss her. I pray that her legacy of love will continue to live amongst those she has left behind.
