Guy, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother,aunt cousin and friend to many. Theresa entered this world on December 26, 1927, at Grassland Hospital in Valhalla , New York, the cherished daughter of Felix and Clara Cardoza. From the very beginning, Theresa brought light, laughter, and love to those who knew her.Raised in White Plains, New York, Theresa grew up surrounded by family and community, learning early the values of kindness, resilience, and faith that would carry her through her extraordinary 97 years of life. Her childhood was filled with simple joys, family traditions, and a strong sense of love that she would later pour into her own family.On June 16, 1946, Theresa married the love of her life, Charles E. Guy, and together they built a home. Their marriage was a true partnership, a shining example of commitment and family strength. The two were blessed with three daughters: Theresa Lynn, Nanette, and Phyllis, who were the joy of their lives. Theresa had a quiet yet profound strength. She carried herself with grace and dignity, always choosing to see the good in others and extending a hand of compassion to all she met. She made those around her feel valued and loved. Her family remembers her as the heart of their home—always keeping, telling stories of the “old days,” and sharing wisdom that only a life rich with experience can give.She was more than a mother; she was a matriarch whose presence was a constant source of comfort. To her grandchildren, she was a warm, loving grandmother who celebrated every milestone, offered sage advice, and never failed to make them feel special. Family gatherings were always brighter with her there, her dancing, her laughter filling the room, her love wrapping around each of them like a blanket.She is survived by her three devoted daughters—Theresa L. Guy, Nanette C. (Guy) Dorsey, and Phyllis J. (Guy) Curry—who honor her legacy every day. She also leaves behind a beautiful family tree: 11 grandchildren (one of whom preceded her in death Demetrius), Jamil,Nanette jr,Toneyia, Shawn, Sheree,Cory,Victor ,Justin and Ashley. 10 great-grandchildren, Travis, Troy,Ayden,Demetrius,Shawn jr,Amaya , Amina, Gianna, Avory and Christian.and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Travis jr, Aries. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, her love living on in their hearts and lives.Those who knew Theresa will remember her for her warm smile, her generous heart, and the way she always made time for others. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, whether they were related by blood or by the bonds of friendship.
While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the incredible life she lived. Her legacy is written in the lives of her children, Family and generations to come. Her love, her laughter, and her wisdom will forever echo in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
